About Bowers Trucking Co.
Jerry D. Bowers Trucking and Bowers Construction are family-owned businesses. Jerry owns both companies with his wife, Karen. Son Mike Bowers serves as General Manager, and daughter Kelly (Bowers) Stovall is the Office Manager.
We pride ourselves in maintaining the same family values of honesty, loyalty, commitment, and trust that began when the business was formed in 1972.
Jerry Bowers grew up in a log-hauling family and learned the business from his dad. He began hauling logs in 1968 at age 19, and started his own business in 1972.
Beginning with one log truck, Bowers Trucking slowly grew and diversified until its main focus changed to hauling forest by-products. The company survived the downturns and thrived during good times, hauling both forest by-products and logs until 2006 when the log trucks were sold.
Jerry’s son, Mike Bowers, joined the family business as manager of this operation under Bowers Construction. After two years, ORC was put on hold and Bowers Construction transitioned into hauling forest by-products along with Bowers Trucking.
In 2010 Bowers Trucking was awarded the contract to haul mineral sands for a new local mining company, Oregon Resources Corporation.
Bowers Construction LLC was created to work for Oregon Resources Corporation’s mineral sands project.
Our trucks hauled sand rich in chromite from mines between Coos Bay and Bandon and delivered the material to ORC’s processing plant in Coos Bay.
This opportunity has allowed us to create family wage jobs and contribute to a stronger local economy.
Bowers Trucking has been able to operate continuously for the past 42 years. We credit the success of our business to the capable drivers, mechanics, office and operations professionals who provide outstanding service to our customers daily.
We believe that our employees are the most important asset we have in operating a successful business, and we are committed to helping them thrive.
